Academics

As our learners are very young, the curriculum calls for hands-on experiences. Our learners have dress up days as they learn about different careers they could pursue and ‘P’ parties where everyone gets to dress up as princesses and pirates.

We have dog shows, visits to the farm, Ushaka Marine World and PheZulu to mention but a few and so the child’s experiences go beyond the classroom to enhance the educational experience.

Our pupils enjoy computer lessons every week. The skills acquired here will hold them in good stead in our technologically evolving world. The pupils also take out new library books once a week and have a vast choice of readers available to them that are age-appropriate.

Our children also participate in National Olympiads like Conquesta and have the opportunity to extend their knowledge and abilities.

At this tender age, the pupils need to develop in totality and become well-rounded citizens.

Pre Primary

In order to offer the best possible start for “Big School”, Glenwood Junior Primary opened a Pre Primary Department in 2000. Here the Grade 00 and Grade 0 children are encouraged to build confidence, self-esteem and self-discipline whilst being stimulated intellectually, physically and creatively.

Junior Primary

Glenwood Junior Primary prides itself in providing a rich and varied curriculum within a secure, safe and caring environment for the school beginner. The Junior School offers a dynamic educational programme to Grade1, 2 and 3 learners which ensure the development of the whole child.
